There's a neglected heap of dress shirts threatening to rise up. They're in my basement, likely conspiring against me, lurking in the shadows.

"You grab his arms and I'll hit 'em with the spray bottle."

I even bought the "non-iron" shirt variety to avoid this very moment. "Non-iron" is kind of like anything you've ever thought was true to its name but clearly isn't. They're less wrinkled out of the wash than, say, a piece of crumpled tissue paper. But, they still require a surgical hit of steam. Unless you don't mind looking like you just practiced your stop, drop and roll.

I like wearing clothes.

I don't like washing, drying, or ironing them.

But what if I didn't see my laundry as a curse resulting from the excavation of King Tut's tomb? What if I saw simple truth disguised as an avoidable everyday chore? I guess that would only work if I was looking for it. I'd have to want to see it. Or, at the very least, be open to it.

What if my laundry was trying to tell me something?

What if I was actually listening?

It might tell me that I have more dress shirts than some people have articles of clothing. Maybe it would tell me the water I use to clean my clothes is cleaner than the water many children have to drink. Maybe it would have even more to say if I spent less time resenting it and more time at its feet.

There's wisdom in the everyday. If you want there to be, that is.

What's your laundry trying to tell you?

Are you listening?

---

In these pages are observations of regular lives that are probably not too different from your own.

May you seek wisdom in the everyday.
May you always find what you are looking for.

Listen to Your Laundry Seeking wisdom in the everyday edition by Erik Eustice CJ Maurer Eric Worral SelfHelp eBooks Reviews

I liked the way the author taught life lessons using examples and interesting stories from his own life. This is a fun read and doesn't take very long to get through. Enjoyed it very much.
My hat goes off to a very talented young man. I took the advise of a cousin who said it was a must read. Well, I wasn't disappointed at all. For those of you who do not know, Erik Eustice happens to be my cousin. I am very proud to say that he is part of my family and I hope very much Erik that you continue to publish more of you work.
It doesn't matter who you are, what you do, or how busy you think your life is. This is the type of read that inspires you to take a second look into the "why" and "how" of everyday, and do something to make it better. A wonderful collection of allegories and anecdotes that is sure to provoke some new thought. Check out "Listen to Your Laundry" and be pleasantly surprised.
Listen to Your Laundry is a perfect example of stopping to smell the roses to enjoy the scent. But instead of roses its your proverbial laundry that doesn't always smell as sweet. The authors have a fantastic ability of taking a simple process or action that we perform daily in robotic fashion and examining the little intricacies of everyday life that tell our "story." The Sea Log is a great way to enjoy these authors on a daily basis, and Listen to Your Laundry continues to impress with the ability to capture the audience, walk them down a road, and simplify the way we look at things.
This book was a very enjoyable read. The short stories that the author uses feature hidden anecdotes on things we all know deep-down but sometimes have trouble seeing or remembering. The stories are humorous and entertaining. You will walk away from this book with a renewed sense of self-worth and you will start to Listen to Your Laundry.
This is a short book, I have read a few essays and am already 18% of the way through. I will delete it after I finish this review. There is just not much to this book, content wise, a bit of reflection on life lessons but nothing I will spend more time on.
I really loved this book. Had my schedule allowed I would have read it from "digital cover to cover". I related to so many of the enjoyably written stories that I saw myself too many times in the words of Erik and CJ. I really had no preconceived notion of what to expect besides the description. What I truly enjoyed most about the book was the way that they were able to eloquently paint a picture of so many situations that we all find ourselves in on a daily basis and attach a lesson to it. I will never look at my garage door the same after reading this! Thank you for taking the risk!
